Palatka Florida 19th Annual Holiday Tour of Historic Homes
December 3, 2011 |
Palatka boasts one of Florida's largest concentrations of 19th century architecture as well as many buildings from the early 20th century. The tour will include up to 10 historic homes in Palatka's South "The Hammock" and North "Reid's Garden" Historic Districts displaying a variety of architectural styles. The majority of these homes have been restored with care while others are a work in progress. The Bronson-Mulholland House (a restored antebellum mansion) and the Putnam County Museum (the original officers' quarters at Fort Shannon) will also be open to visitors. Other weekend events include the Holiday House at Historic Tilghman House, a walking tour of murals throughout the city depicting historic events and/or people, a lighted boat parade and riverside/neighborhood luminaries. Plus music, refreshments and more!
