BACKGROUND

Suzi has enjoyed a lifetime commitment to historic preservation.  She was raised in a historic district in Seattle, and she obtained her law degree from the University of Washington, where she specialized in Historic Preservation Law.  While working for the Seattle City Council, she helped draft the Seattle Landmark Ordinance, helped rezone an area of the city that was threatened with demolition to make way for high rise apartments, and she helped individuals complete the paperwork to have their historic homes listed on the National Register.  After moving to the East Coast, Suzi worked on the creation of the Upper East Side Historic District in Manhattan and served on the committee to designate the village of Stockbridge, MA as a National Register historic district.

Throughout her career, Suzi has held positions that promote historic landmarks, such as working as Advertising and Public Relations Director for the Plaza Hotel, and the St. Regis Hotel in New York, and as Communications and Fundraising Events Director for the Statue of Liberty Restoration.  In addition, Suzi is a writer, who has written 40+ books, mostly historic profiles of travel destinations, cookbooks, or guidebooks to Country Inns and Bed & Breakfasts.

REAL ESTATE CAREER

Suzi has been selling real estate on Long Island, for almost 30 years, specializing in historic or vintage homes, elegant manor houses and estates, country inns, and bed and breakfasts.  She built her business and reputation by exceeding the expectations of her clients and customers, and she appreciates the number of repeat customers and referrals she receives.  In addition to holding the designation of Associate Real Estate Broker, Suzi is a top producer with Daniel Gale Sotheby's Intl. Realty, and a member of its Gold Circle of Excellence.  She is also a Certified Buyer Representative, a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, and a Relocation Specialist.

Suzi is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Municipal Art Society, the Historic House Trust of New York, the Professional Circle of the New York Landmarks Conservancy, North Shore Land Alliance, Preservation Long Island, the Roslyn Landmark Society, Oyster Bay Historical Society, Raynham Hall, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the James Beard Foundation, the Long Island Board of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
