R&B Restoration Carpentry, Inc. works on buildings
dating from the mid-18th century to the mid-20th century and ranging from
houses to farm buildings, churches, meetinghouses, offices, and industrial
buildings. We are carpenters who love old buildings and tradition construction.
We know how old buildings were put together and how to repair and preserve historic
fabric. We can analyze the causes of defects and design appropriate repairs.
Working with historical architects and engineers, we build additions and
undertake wholesale structural repairs.
We are looking for carpenters at two levels:
- Advanced Apprentice – someone with training in carpentry
with either a trade-school diploma (or certificate) or up to 5 years of work as
a trim or finish carpenter. Experience working on historic buildings is not
required, but an appreciation of historic preservation is.
- Jobsite Foreman – someone with the qualifications (training
and/or experience) to lead a team of carpenters to undertake the scope of
work. Experience working on historic
buildings is required.
Job benefits: Paid vacation and holiday time, paid sick
leave, retirement plan with employer contributions.
Pay Range: $40-80,000 depending upon capabilities
Physical Demands / Work Environment: The work is physically
demanding. Exposure to weather, heavy loads and risks to health and safety is
expected. Safety training, PPE, and risk assessments for each job to
minimize/eliminate risk is provided.
