We recently launched a new social series, Heritage Highlight, where we’re featuring historic places and spaces across Maryland and a snapshot of their history and current usage. These historic sites may be unique, threatened, or have/had a transformative impact on their communities or the state
as a whole.

Our first highlight was the C&O Canal Trust's historic lockhouses, pictured above, now part of the Canal Quarters program, which saw the original structures rehabilitated through a cooperative agreement with the National Park Service.
