JOB POSTING: DIRECTOR, HISTORIC PROGRAM

ABOUT THE ROLE
SRI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of the Historic Program to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and management of our historic built environment projects, historical archaeology, historical
research, oral history, historic preservation planning, and historic architecture/landscape architecture projects. This role requires a strong leader who can mentor and develop a team, manage diverse projects, ensure
compliance with federal and state standards, and drive business development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop the Historic Program, ensuring strategic growth and quality execution.
- Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Oversee project life cycles, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
- Conduct and direct research, analysis, and resource investigation.
- Prepare, review, and ensure quality technical reports and documentation.
- Maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and oversee proposal development.
- Stay updated on industry trends and encourage staff development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in research, fieldwork, and analysis in the Historic Program’s focus areas.
- Strong knowledge of cultural resource laws (e.g., NHPA, NEPA, ARPA) and GIS/database integration.
- Proven leadership, project management, and client relations skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical report writing.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Relevant certifications or licenses may be required.
BENEFITS
- Salary range $85,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
