From Preservation Action:
Historic Preservation Caucus recently sent a dear-colleague letter inviting Representatives to join the bipartisan Caucus. The Historic Preservation Caucus was first formed in 2003 and brings together members of Congress who understand the value of America’s historic places as definers of our national character. Its members support and encourage preservation and thoughtful economic development in their states, districts, and territories as a matter of national policy.
The bipartisan Historic Preservation Caucus is co-chaired by Rep. Michael Turner (R-OH) and Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM), who recently took over after former Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) retired at the end of the last Congress.
This is a great way for members of Congress to demonstrate their support for historic preservation. We encourage you to reach out to your Representative and urge them join the bipartisan Historic Preservation Caucus. You can review a list of current list of Caucus members here.
If your Representative is already a member, be sure to thank them! If not, reach out and encourage them join! You can pass along our Historic Preservation Caucus one-pager. Interested offices can contact Mark Zientek in Rep. Leger Fernandez's office or Clare Pavell in Rep. Turner's office.
