Dear SAH Community,
We are pleased to announce Ben Thomas as the next Executive Director of the Society of Architectural Historians.
Ben comes to SAH from the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), where he has worked since 2004, initially as the Education and Outreach Coordinator and since 2008 as Director of Programs. The search committee was impressed by Ben’s strong record of forging international partnerships, his commitment to crafting accessible programs that attract diverse audiences, and his ability to rethink activities to make them more effective and less costly. In short, he has deep experience with not-for-profit membership organizations and understands the joys and challenges of this work.
Ben will assume his role at SAH on February 1, 2023. We hope you’ll join us at the annual conference in Montréal in April, so you can meet Ben and welcome him to the Society.
More details about Ben’s career and scholarship are contained in the press release below.
Sincerely,
Patricia A. Morton and Abigail Van Slyck
Co-Chairs, SAH Executive Director Search Committee
