Rose Bowl Improvements Moving Forward

The Pasadena Heritage Advocacy Committee met with the Rose Bowl team on November 14th to review current and future projects planned for the National Historic Landmark stadium. After a thoughtful presentation about critical infrastructure needs, fan experience, and the wishes of key tenants of the Bowl, Pasadena Heritage asked numerous questions, particularly about impacts to the historic features. The first set of projects include a student standing section on the East side, improved Wifi, a new club area on the South side that will replace some seats at the lowest levels, and, happily, the rehabilitation of the iconic Rose Bowl sign. The Committee generally supported the plans, but will be forwarding additional questions to the Rose Bowl soon, especially regarding the design of the new club area. Other changes proposed in a Phase 2 plan raise some serious questions and will be the subject of further discussions.
