The Heritage Fund, a cooperative effort of Preservation Maryland and the Maryland Historical Trust, is now accepting applications. Since 1996, the Heritage Fund has distributed over $1M to over 450 preservation projects across the state, leveraging over $18M in total project funds.
The Heritage Fund provides direct assistance for the protection of historical and cultural resources and promotes innovative demonstration projects that can be successfully replicated to meet Maryland’s historic preservation needs and is only open to non-profit organizations, including religious institutions, and units of local government.

During FY24, the Heritage Fund awarded a total of $119,200 to 17 projects across Maryland. Click here to learn more about the funded projects. This year a total of $125,600 is available.
