The City of Austin Economic Development Department’s Heritage Tourism Division provides leadership and management for the City’s heritage tourism programs that help preserve Austin as a place of personal heritage. The position is responsible for preservation project grants administration, historic preservation research, direct community outreach, and tourism marketing to help restore historic sites and promote heritage tourism activities. Experience with projects or programs that lead with a lens of equity is highly encouraged.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience conducting research in Historic Preservation
- College coursework in Historic Preservation or related field.
- Experience with grants administration, coordination, and outreach.
- Experience with marketing and promotional strategies to enhance heritage tourism and direct community outreach approaches.
- Project coordination experience to monitor preservation project grants and tourism activities.
Spanish fluency verbal and written preferred, but not required.
Pay Range: $30.14 – $37.66
