LOCATION: History Center - 345 W Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102 COMPENSATION: $50,356.80 annual minimum
STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular (approximately 2,080 annual hours) position.

DESCRIPTION: This position exists to plan, coordinate and implement special events in support of MNHS membership and development programs, assisting the achievement of the Development department’s financial and relational goals. Responsibilities include researching, developing and recommending event themes, creating and maintaining event timelines and budgets and handling all aspects of event logistics. The position also supports the Development department’s membership program. Clientele includes Development department, Director’s office, MNHS staff, and MNHS members and donors.
SUMMARY OF WORK: 1) Plan and coordinate events for the MNHS Development & Membership department; 2) Coordinate and oversee event logistics; 3) Provide customer service and administrative support; 4) Coordinate event communication pieces and materials; and 5) Perform event follow up including analysis, reporting and evaluation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Three years event planning and implementation experience.
- Must be able to work non-standard hours including occasional evenings and weekends, and occasional travel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver event setup equipment and materials.

- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a variety of representatives of public and private organizations; members of boards, foundations, commissions, and support groups; organizational managers; museum and historic site staff; and the general public.
- Remain flexible and adapt to changing situations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
- Computer skills necessary to develop quality project and program documentation. (especially Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Adobe, Google)
- Think imaginatively and problem solving.
- Customer service and interpersonal communications skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Multitask, work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritizing and adapting to changing priorities.
- Work independently and take individual initiative while also being able to collaborate effectively and contribute positively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a demonstrated results orientation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CRM development database experience.
- Experience using Zoom for Webinars and Meetings for virtual events preferred.
- Experience with InDesign, Wordfly, Trello and Asana is a plus.
