SWCA's San Antonio, TX office offers a unique work environment and a diversified client-base, including generation / renewables, transportation, water infrastructure, oil and gas, and land development.

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking temporary Cultural Resources Technicians for our San Antonio, TX office to assist on projects based in the Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas area. The schedule requires extensive travel with a 10 day on/ 4 day off rotation.

What you will accomplish

- Assist with conducting archaeological fieldwork (including pedestrian survey, site identification, site recording / data collection, monitoring and data recovery excavations).
- Conduct fieldwork for long hours in various environments including, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and rugged terrain.
- Accurately identify historic and prehistoric artifacts and features.
- Assist with cultural resource records searches, laboratory analysis tasks, and other office work, as needed.
- Work independently in a responsible manner.
- Work as a productive member of a team and follow the direction of the field supervisor.
Experience and qualifications for success

- High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of relevant experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field, preferred.
- An accredited Field School, preferred.
- Experience with a range of field methodologies; including survey, testing, excavation, and heavy equipment or ground disturbing activity monitoring is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background screening, and have access to reliable transportation.
- Able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Available for fieldwork on local projects and for fieldwork requiring extended travel (staying in a hotel for up to 2 weeks at a time).

SWCA is committed to salary equity and salary transparency for all its employees.  In alignment with this commitment, SWCA posts good faith pay ranges in all its advertised job postings to promote pay equity and transparency. A Cultural Resources Technician in this San Antonio based position can expect an hourly rate of $18.75 - $24.75/hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.  Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
