We are seeking an Architectural Historian I (Historian 1) to join our Duluth, GA team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
- Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting all phases of architectural history related work
- Identification of historic resources and evaluation of resources for NRHP eligibility
- Conduct and manage historic resources field surveys including photography and documentation
- Preparing Historic Resources Survey Reports, History Assessment of Effects Reports, Memoranda of Agreements, PAR Mitigation reports, and Section 106 early coordination letters with agencies
- Ability to complete historical research of historic resources, buildings, towns, and cities
- Maintaining quality control standards for aforementioned documentation and analyses of historic resources
- Working with project team to avoid and minimize impacts to eligible historic resources
- Working within defined schedules and meeting deadlines
- Maintaining quality standards on all projects assigned
- Participating in project meetings and providing updates
- Assisting other subject matter experts as needed

Minimum requirements: 
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, History or closely related field
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Knowledge of architectural styles, trends, and date identification, architectural attributes and materials; specific knowledge of the history and architecture Georgia preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of the aspects of integrity and eligibility criteria of the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP)
- Excellent research, writing, communication, and photographic skills
- Graduate degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, History, or closely related field preferred
- Experience with Georgia Department of Transportation is preferred

Technical requirements: 
- Knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal historic preservation laws and regulations, particularly Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA)
- Proficiency with Adobe, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required for coordination with the Project Management team
- Must have a valid drivers license

Other miscellaneous qualities: 
- Occasional out-of-state travel may be required
- Hybrid work schedule 

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
