Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Archaeological Lab Technician to join our collaborative and innovative Cultural Resources team.

Responsibilities include:
- Artifact washing and labeling
- Data entry and database management
- Preparation of collections for final curation using state – or repository-specific guidelines, under the direction of the Collections Coordinator and Lab Manager
- Assist with collection deliveries
- Executing the company’s laboratory and reporting methodologies
- May also assist with archaeological fieldwork, artifact research, and public outreach if desired and as workloads allow

The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in anthropology, archaeology, or closely related field
- At least four months of related experience in a cultural resource management, academic or similar setting
- A valid driver’s license
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain an organized approach to work
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Working knowledge of standard archaeological laboratory methods
- Basic knowledge of the material culture of the mid-Atlantic region
- Attention to detail, including an aptitude for recognizing inconsistencies
- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Access and Excel
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, examine small artifacts and other materials up to 8 hours per day, read and/or write small numbers and letters legibly up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight (less than 5 percent)
