This position oversees the 16 state historic sites and requires knowledge of professional historic sites practices, procedures, and techniques, a knowledge of American and Kansas history, knowledge of sources, methods, and techniques used in historical interpretation, and knowledge of the principles and practices of management and supervision. Responsibilities include recruitment, training, and evaluation of local historic sites administrators and alternates, as well as travel each of the 16 sites regularly.
