2024 Action Fund Grants Aim to Catalyze Preservation of Black heritage Across U.S.
Historic Preservation Blog from PreservationDirectory.com -
Contributed By: National Trust for Historic Preservation
Email The Author: grants@savingplaces.org

Black cultural assets are undervalued and underfunded. Since the inception of the National Trust’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund in 2017, preservation groups have submitted 4,847 funding proposals requesting $567M in funding. The need to protect these heritage sites continues to grow which is why the Action Fund has stepped in to narrow these gaps through its innovative national grant program.

Whether it’s the historic home of an American hero, a sacred house of worship, a Modernist structure or a Historically Black College & University (HBCUs), we want to know about it. Action Fund grants support preservation work in five primary areas: Capital Projects, Endowment and Financial Sustainability, Organizational Capacity Building, Project Planning, and Programming and Interpretation.

Visit the links below to access more information and learn about eligibility requirements. Action Fund grant requirements vary. Deadline to apply is February 1, 2024.
- National Grant Program
- Conserving Black Modernism

Together, let’s steward America’s diverse heritage by protecting these important sites.
