Kinnard Springs is located on part of the original Swanson land grant, which was purchased by Edward Swanson shortly after his arrival in Nashville Tennessee in 1779. A portion of this grant was then sold by Swanson to Claiborne Kinnard. Restoration of the original log home circa 1790 was a 10 year project, using the best historic specialists in the region and is now a guest cottage/studio. In 1850, Kinnard completed his home, a two story frame with end fireplaces. Large parlors with high ceilings flank the entrance hall with its ornate staircase. The house was remodeled in 1898 adding the two-story, columned portico and wraparound porches with vista views. The current owner has completed many other major restorations in keeping with the historic charm.

This historic Claiborne Kinnard property is known as "Fairview", perhaps because the home is high up the hill with expansive views of the countryside and cool breezes. The home has only been occupied by two owner/residents; multiple generations of the Kinnard Family, and the current owner, who has meticulously restored the property over 24 years.

Kinnard Springs is an equestrian neighborhood and is minutes from downtown Historic Franklin and historic Leiper's Fork Village, and just south of Nashville, Tennessee.
