National Trust for Historic Preservation Seeking Nominations for America's 11 Most Endangered List

The National Trust for Historic Preservation is currently accepting nominations for their 2025 List of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places. Since 1988, the National Trust has used its annual list to raise awareness about the threats facing some of our nation's greatest treasures. The list has identified more than 350 sites to date and has been so successful in galvanizing preservation efforts, that only a handful of sites have been lost.

When evaluating a potential site for inclusion on the list, the National Trust considers a range of factors, including its significance, whether a local group is engaged in its preservation, the urgency of the threat the site faces, and potential solutions to that threat. The National Trust is particularly interested in nominations of places that are facing threats due to the impact of climate change, and nominations that illuminate a unique or overlooked aspect of American history, including places that are important to underrepresented communities.

Do you know an important but threatened place in your community that could benefit from national advocacy and attention? Check out the National Trust's FAQs to learn everything you need to know about submitting a nomination to the 2025 11 Most Endangered Historic Places List. Submissions are due by October 8th, 2024.
