Jefferson’s Curiosities: Music

June 13, 2025 |
Thomas Jefferson was a man whose varied interests included math, astronomy, botany, architecture, the arts, literature, viniculture, philosophy and music. The third topic in the new Curiosities Series looks at Thomas Jefferson’s well-documented love of music. Jefferson, a musician himself, played the fiddle, and purchased instruments for his daughters and grandchildren. Join Poplar Forest and members of the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra as we explore Jefferson’s interest in music, and listen to a selection of music that Jefferson may have heard performed in concert or played himself. A wine and cheese reception with the members of the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra follows the talk. Tickets are $25 per person for each Curiosities Series talk, or $80 for all four.
