Pathway of Resistance: The Erie Canal and the Underground Railroad

February 25, 2025 |
Join us Tuesday, February 25th at 7:00 PM at the Spiegel Pittsford Community Center for, "Pathway of Resistance: The Erie Canal and the Underground Railroad," presented by Derrick Pratt, Director of Education and Public Programming at the Erie Canal Museum. This talk examines the experience of African-Americans along the Erie Canal Corridor, with a particular focus on the struggle for abolition. While parts of this story are unpleasant, slavery, racism, and resistance are critical to understanding our society today. This presentation is free and open to the public; registration not required.
